"For more than 20 years, John has served the company successfully in a number of roles," said Robert W. Best, Atmos Energy chairman, president and chief executive officer. "I am confident that he will lead the Mid-Tex Division with the same enthusiasm and concern for employees that he did while leading our Kentucky division, named one of the 'Best Places to Work' in Kentucky for the past three years." Paris, 44, joined Atmos Energy in 1985 in Colorado, and he has held numerous positions in operations, marketing and engineering. Paris graduated from Berea College in Berea, Kentucky, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. "I'm excited to join the Atmos Energy team in Texas, where I'll be focusing on safety, community service and proper rate structure," said Paris. "This is thriving economy with wonderful people, and our goal is to continue delivering safe, reliable service to meet the needs of Texans." Dick Erskine, who led the transition to Atmos Energy, has resumed his duties as president of Atmos Pipeline-Texas. Since October 2005, Erskine was in charge of both the pipeline and local distribution companies. He will be able to concentrate on the fast-growing pipeline business going forward. ### |
