2014 News Releases
DALLAS, Texas — (February 6, 2014) — Atmos Energy Corporation said today that residential customers should take steps now to conserve energy in their home and save money on their upcoming heating bill.
“This winter season is shaping up to be over 20% colder than normal, which means natural gas consumption among our customers is on the rise,” said Marvin Sweetin, Atmos Energy senior vice president of utility operations. “When you factor in the modest uptick of natural gas prices on the market along with this week’s extremely cold weather across the nation, our customers can likely expect bills to be higher next month.”
To combat those high energy bills, Atmos Energy is advising customers to scale-back on energy use inside their homes or businesses.
"Using energy wisely and making a few household changes can create substantial savings for customers, said Sweetin. To learn more, visit www.atmosenergy.com or follow the energy saving tips below:"

Atmos Energy also offers several payment options to help customers manage high natural gas bills. One of the most effective programs we have is Budget Billing.
“Budget Billing is designed to ease monthly fluctuations in natural gas bills,” Sweetin said. “It affords customers the convenience of having a more predictable bill each month by using a 12-month average to calculate bills.”
