Atmos Energy Breaks Ground on New McKinney Service Center

Company Continues Focus on Customer Service

McKinney, Texas -- June 28, 2006 -- Atmos Energy Corporation today officially broke ground for its new North Collin County service center in McKinney, Texas, which will serve as the staging and support center to respond to service calls in the northern Metroplex region.    

“The new service center is strategically centralized within the region which will help us to continue providing excellent service to customers,” said Scott Powell, Atmos Energy vice president of metro operations for the Mid-Tex Division. “Atmos Energy is constantly striving to improve response times and efficiency, to exceed the expectations of our customers. As the area’s population has grown we have seen the need for a more centralized location. This new facility is being built to streamline operations and improve customer satisfaction. We’re also confident the additional Atmos Energy presence in northern Collin County will lead to more company and employee participation in community activities.”

When completed, the new 17,000 square foot building, at 1618 Corporate Drive, will house Atmos Energy’s construction, meter reading, parts, engineering, distribution and service operations at one location.

“Atmos Energy is investing in McKinney with this new service center along with high quality jobs,” said Steve Matthews, Atmos Energy manager of public affairs for the McKinney area. “The center is scheduled to open in October. Initially, about 20 employees will be assigned to the service center as current positions through the region converge to the single location. The service center will also provide Atmos Energy the flexibility to expand with the areas rapid growth.”
