COLUMBUS, Ohio -- July 19, 2010 --Bob Evans Farms, Inc. today issued the following statement regarding an incident that took place near its restaurant at 3800 South High Street in Columbus:

At approximately 3:50 p.m. today, a man claiming to have been shot entered the Bob Evans restaurant located at 3800 South High Street in Columbus. The restaurant management notified authorities immediately. The Bob Evans Farms, Inc. employees are cooperating fully with the ColumbusPolice Department and have closed the restaurant pending the investigation.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steve Davis said: "Nothing is more important to Bob Evans Farms than the safety and well being of our employees and guests. No one inside the restaurant was injured, and we are hoping for the best possible resolution of this unfortunate incident."
