DECLARES QUARTERLY CASH DIVIDENDS ON ITS COMMON STOCK  

COLUMBUS, Ohio - October 16, 2008 – Huntington Bancshares Incorporated on October 15, 2008 , announced that the board of directors has declared a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock (NASDAQ: HBAN) of $0.1325 per common share. The dividend is payable January 2, 2009 , to shareholders of record on December 13, 2008 .
