Huntington Announces Its Eastern Ohio Region Executive Management Structure
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- August 29, 2006 -- Huntington Bancshares, Inc. today announced Roger L. Mann will assume the role of Chairman of its Eastern Ohio Region. In addition, James H. Nicholson has been appointed President of the Eastern Ohio Region. This executive management change will take effect on September 1, 2006. In his new role, Roger Mann will assist the management team in growing market share and oversee community relations for the Eastern Ohio Region. Prior to Huntington's acquisition of Unizan Financial Corp. in March 2006, Mann served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Unizan Financial Corp. and Chairman of the Board of Unizan Bank. Mann began his banking career with San Diego Trust & Savings Bank and LaJolla Bank & Trust Company. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, and a master's degree in business administration from National University, San Diego, Calif. Active in the community, Mann serves on the boards of Mercy Hospital, Malone College, Canton Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Stark County and Brookside Country Club. He is past Chairman of the Stark County Development Board and is a state trustee for the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. Mann resides in Jackson Township with his wife Kathleen. Currently the region's Chief Operating Officer, Jim Nicholson will now be responsible for all retail, commercial and business banking operations for Huntington's Eastern Ohio Region. In addition, he will provide strategic management counsel and leadership to the Region's senior management team. He formerly served as Executive Vice President of Unizan Financial Corp., and President and CEO of Unizan Bank. Prior to the merger between BancFirst Ohio Corp. and UNB Corp., which formed Unizan Financial Corp. in March of 2002; he was Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary of BancFirst Ohio Corp. and President and CEO of First National Bank of Zanesville, Ohio. Nicholson is a graduate, Summa Cum Laude, of Muskingum College with a bachelor's degree in Accounting. He resides in North Canton with his wife Melanie and their three sons.
