Declares Quarterly Cash Dividends On Its
8.50% Series A Non-Cumulative Perpetual
Convertible Preferred Stock

COLUMBUS, Ohio – October 15, 2008 – Huntington Bancshares Incorporated today announced that the board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend on its 8.50% Series A Non-Cumulative Perpetual Convertible Preferred Stock (NASDAQ: HBANP) of $21.25 per share.  The dividend is payable January 15, 2009, to shareholders of record on January 1, 2009.
