COLUMBUS, Ohio -- February 13, 2003 -- Huntington's new brand campaign celebrates the bank's focus on its associates and their efforts in providing excellent customer service. The second phase of Huntington's engaging advertising campaign, "What We're Really Made Of," features a single associate in each local television spot to demonstrate the desire Huntington associates have to build one-on-one relationships with their customers.

A series of three ads will run in rotation and feature three different associates from this area. Marlon Hayles, sales manager, Direct Bank, Columbus (ZIP: 43231); Moniqua Spencer, business banker, Columbus (ZIP: 43209); and Jim Kunk, regional president, Columbus (ZIP: 43017) all appear in one of the television spots, emphasizing the genuine enthusiasm that Huntington associates bring to their work with Huntington customers.

"Building on the momentum of the 2002 campaign which focused on the positive changes being made under our new leadership; we have gone back to our associates to be the voice of Huntington," said Kunk. "Our focus on the individual needs of our customers is evident in the unscripted testimony of our enthusiastic associates. The Huntington ads showcase real people sharing their customer service experiences in providing everyday solutions to individual needs."

"Morale is up and associates are excited about the spirit and empowerment that allows us to take care of our customers," said Hayles. "Not only is Huntington a great place to work, but we know that our personal responsibility to the customer is really valued."

"At Huntington, we've committed ourselves to focusing on excellent customer service and to lending our passion to everything we do," said Tom Hoaglin, Huntington chairman, president and chief executive officer. "The branding campaign emphasizes the vital role our dedicated associates play in proving that it is our people, not necessarily products, that make for a positive banking experience and distinguishes Huntington from others. I am confident that through the commitment of our associates, our customers recognize Huntington as the customer-focused, approachable local bank."

The campaign features associates from each of Huntington's regions and will air in Columbus, Ohio; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Cincinnati, Ohio; Cleveland, Ohio; Toledo, Ohio; Detroit, Mich.; Indianapolis, Ind. and Charleston, W. Va. The TV ads began airing on Jan. 27 and will run through May. The ads will begin airing again in September, running through November.

Hayles has been a part of the Huntington team for four years after being recruited by his sister who also is a Huntington associate. The diversity and openness of Huntington management also enticed Hayles to Huntington. In his free time, Jamaican-native Hayles assists his parents in running a Caribbean restaurant in Columbus.

Kunk has worked for Huntington for 21 years. In addition, he is passionate about serving the community. He sits on the Boards of the following organizations: Ohio Bankers Association, Audubon Society of Ohio, State Auto Insurance Companies, CAPA (Columbus Association for the Performing Arts), Franklin University, The Columbus Zoological Association, The Foundation of the Catholic Diocese of Columbus, and the Columbus Council on World Affairs.

Spencer has worked for Huntington for six years. In addition, she is heavily involved in the community serving on the Board of Trustees for Columbus Compact. She is also a member of the Community Capital Development Corp. and the South Central Ohio Minority Business Council Certification Committee. In her free time, she serves as a mentor for the INROADS program and as a consultant for Junior Achievement.
